News:
Unfortunately, the Toy Library has been informed that the Enchanted Garden Party will no longer run due to the lack of volunteers. This is a great shame, but these things happen.
In 2009 the Hills Community Toy Library celebrate its 30th Birthday. We had a birthday party on the 21st November 2009. There was a great turn out from our members, including a special guest Isobel Redmond. Murray the Magican entertained us with his magic, Kelly Morris made funny balloon animals and there was the biggest Birthday cake ever which was eaten by all.

We were involved with the Enchanted Garden Party on the 22nd March 2009 at Stangate House and Garden. Our event was the Bubble Adventure and over the 4.5 hours we had roughly 300 children and their parents blowing sparkly bubbles everywhere.
ATTENTION!!!
We will now be open during the school holidays on Sundays due to the success of 1st two week school holiday in April.
This does not include the Christmas school holidays and any public holidays (such as Easter).
Baby Gear Sale:
The 2009 Baby Gear Sale was successfully held on 22nd February 2009 at the Steamroller Park, Stirling.
Enchanted Garden Party:
Location: Stangate House, 3 Edgeware Road, Aldgate
Last Party:
Sunday 16th March 2008 at 11.30am to 4pm.
On a very hot day, we set up our Toy Library area at the Enchanted Garden Party. It’s a way of making families in the local area aware of our existence and what we are all about. So, a selection of toys was displayed for the children attending the Enchanted Garden Party could play on for free.

Hello everyone, As you may be aware, on the 19th September was our 2008 AGM and, unfortunately, it was announced that we have had to drop a weekly roster shift. We would prefer to keep the toy library open for all shifts, but we do not have enough volunteers to fill them. We have analysed the results from the recent survey and looked at reports from our database to find out the following information about the weekly shifts: which are the busiest for borrowers; which are the quietest for our borrowers; which shifts are the easiest and hardest to fill with our current volunteers. The outcome was that Tuesdays and Fridays are equal quietest, then Wednesday and the busiest being the Sunday shifts. However, the easiest to fill with volunteers are the Fridays, then Sundays, then Wednesday and the hardest are Tuesdays. So, these results indicate to us that Tuesdays are the quietest and hardest to fill with volunteers, then this shift should be dropped. To promote new members, preferably volunteer members, to our Toy Library we have started to put posters up in local shops and we are organising a display at the Stirling Library. If we can sign up at least 6 new volunteers members next term, we could consider reopening the Tuesday shifts, as long as those 6 new volunteer members could all do Tuesdays. If you can think of anywhere you believe would be a great place for a toy library poster to be put, please let me know. If you can help in anyway way to promote the toy library or have ideas for promoting the toy library, we, the Committee, would love to hear from you. Thank you for your time, Alicia Gregg HCTL Chairperson
